Myulchi Bokkeum (Stir-fried Anchovies)

Myulchi means Stir-fried in Korean. Stir fry recipes are most popular in Korean cuisine. Bokkeum is nothing but Anchovies. Today we have selected the very small-sized anchovies, which are available from the market. This is a wonderful combination with Rasam rice, or we can use it as a snack as well. It will be crispy.

Ingredients

Dried Anchovies – 250 gmGinger – 1 inch
garlic – 4 pods
Green chilli – 4
Oil – 7 tsp

Steps

Wash the dried anchovies 3 to 4 times.

Since this is tiny anchovies no need to remove the head. If you wish, you can remove it.

Grate garlic pods, ginger, and chop the green chillies

Add 5 tsp of oil to a pan. Once the oil is hot, add the ginger and fry it until the flavor mixes with the oil. This ginger will remove the excess smell of dried fish. You never feel the dried fish smell.

Add dried anchovies and fry them until it gets golden in color.

Then move the fried anchovies to one side of the pan. Add two more spoons of oil on the other side and add garlic and green chilli and fry it until the raw smell goes out.

Finally, mix all together and fry for another 3 to 4 minutes without adding water.

Now the crispy Myulchi Bokkeum is ready to serve. This is the best combination for Rasam rice.
