Steps
Cut the fish into pieces and wash thoroughly.
Add turmeric powder, two spoons of chilli powder to the fish and mix. Keep this mix for 20 minutes.

Take a lemon-sized tamarind in a bowl and add a little hot water. Keep this aside for 15minutes.

Add two spoons of oil into a pan and heat. Once the oil is hot, add 2 tsp of fenugreek seeds, Black pepper, fennel seeds, and cumin seeds. Fry this till a golden color.

Add ¾ of the chopped onion and the cut green chilli. Fry this until the onion gets translucent. Now, add grated coconut to this and fry it. Add ginger garlic paste into this and fry it until the raw smell goes out.

Now this mix is ready for making a paste. Grind this into a fine paste by adding some water.
Again, heat the same pan and add two spoons of oil and sesame oil and heat it. Once hot, add 1 tsp of fenugreek seeds. Add the rest of the onion and tomato. Once the onion and tomato are mushy, add tamarind extract and boil it.
Add 1 tsp chilli powder, coriander powder, ground paste, and stir it. Add enough water and bring this mix to a boil.

Once this is boiled, add the marinated fish pieces to the gravy. Once the bubble starts, add a little lemon juice, just a little. Now reduce the flame to very low and keep boiling for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, add oil to a small pan. Add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves. Once the mustard starts spluttering, add this mix into the curry and gently stir it without breaking the fish pieces.
